When performing bulk transfers of files via FTP using FileZilla as the destination either as empty (0 byte) files or partially written. I too ran into this a while back. I noticed that if the file was bigger than a certain size (it was bytes or so for me). A client is using FileZilla to upload files to our SFTP site provided by Cerberus FTP Server Professional v Recently they have. There has been some work in parsing curl's output to detect these errors, but it's not complete and it doesn't have an active developer at the moment. I understand, error detection is missing during file upload. Same problem. And it has something to do with the connection in general — in our office we experienced also problems fith FileZilla who refused to upload some files. But anyway the problem is there.

I think upload verification would be a proper solution. I got the same issue during uploading with ftpes. Some files get 0 bytes. Do you have solution on that? Might be related to the curl issue mentioned by maieul in I think, it is, indeed. I suggest, maybe, to try to force the max tls version explicitly and maybe remove it later, when curl bug will be fix. Skip to content. Star 5. New issue. Jump to bottom. Copy link. Hi, Really hope I'm not just being silly here apologies if so , but I'm finding that running git ftp push yields the expected output files uploaded etc and though the file has been written to the destination server, the written file has no content and is 0 bytes in size.

Is there anything you can suggest I can look at here? Many thanks. No errors in verbose mode: Running with gitlab-ci-multi-runner 1. Running on xxxxxv Fetching changes HEAD is now at cadc Update. Build succeeded. I got the same problem. Anyone knows how to solve it? Ended up using a proxy.

I fixed it by getting the source and did a quick fix and the resulting jar that I built worked for us. If I remember the fix right, I disabled Nagle's algorithm with socket. If it happens sometimes, it smells like a firewall configuration on one of the ends.

In the course of the ftp transaction, your client machine establishes the ftp connection, then issues the ftp STOR command to upload the file. If you are in ACTIVE mode iptables may not allow the server to communicate with your client machine on this randomly selected port, you will get a zero-byte file with the correct name and no other data. You can fix this by switching the transaction to PASSIVE mode from the client side, or by setting iptables on the client machine to do "connection tracking":.

Check your disk capacity. I faced to this kind of situation when I was working on Raspberry Pi project. I had to work with large files downloads and it caused to fill-up RPi's SD card very quickly. After reaching some extent FTP uploads 0 bytes files. Not only for small storage, this can be happened anywhere. For example, your server can create gigabytes of error log files.

After sometime your server space will be filled by those log files. Again same thing happens on FTP uploads. Check that out too. Try running WireShark and see what is going across the wire? That might give you a clue as to where the problem lies. Stack Overflow for Teams — Collaborate and share knowledge with a private group. Create a free Team What is Teams?
